Jen Wagner

I am a native of the Eastern Shore, growing up in St. Michaels and attending school in Easton. I spent much of my youth traveling, and working on local political issues in various cities throughout the U.S. I then sailed down the Intra-Coastal Waterway to the Exumas in the Bahamas, and spent time exploring the islands and their people.

Upon my return to the Eastern Shore seven years ago, I began an apprenticeship with a local jeweler and mosaic artist. My love of the art fused with my love of community involvement, and many public art projects have resulted since. I have worked on projects in local schools and several with the Dorchester YMCA. Two well known projects are the Race St. Mosaic Mural in Cambridge, whose panels have now been hung on buildings throughout the town, and the Cannery Way Mural, an 80 ft. mural in the center of downtown Cambridge. Both projects allowed members of the community to participate, and it is estimated that hundreds of people participated in both projects.

My mosaic installations can be found in private residences, salons, and most notably the mosaic mural in the women’s bathroom at the Bella Luna restaurant on High Street in Cambridge. I also a participated in the Project Idewild mosaics. I am a contributing writer for What’s Up? Eastern Shore magazine. My work is in collections across the U.S. and Brazil.
