Beginner Stained Glass Copper foil method with Artist Paul Winters 5 two hour sessions, schedule to be determined to best accommodate students Use of tools and equipment included. Students will learn about the unique nature of glass as a medium, design elements, and basic techniques for creating stained glass panels using Tiffany’s copper foil method. Glass Fusing with Artist Sharon Stockley Students will learn about what glass will do in a small tabletop kiln, combining pieces of compatible glass with dichroic glass and inclusions, you will create your own unique ‘gems.’ These can be incorporated into jewelry or other decorative items. Glass Beadmaking with Artist Sharon Stockley Students will learn to shape and form hot glass over a flame with a portable torch. After a safety review of tools and materials, basic beads will be made and the class will go on to learn various techniques for shaping and decorating glass beads. Dichroic, foil, lattacino. Dots and other decorative methods will be explored. Please wear cotton clothing with no loose sleeves and long hair should be tied back. Art Jewelry with Artist Sharon Stockley Working with copper, brass and sterling silver, students will discover different methods of attaching materials to each other to create wearable art. Wire wrapping, soldering and drilling will enable the student to create jewelry from beads, charms, found objects, and various mementos. Students will be working with their own designs. We will make our own clasps and findings of working with finishing off chains. Earrings, pendants, pins some bracelet ideas are possible. You will be able to take finished jewelry home. Students should bring any momentos, old jewelry pieces, charms, that they may want to incorporate into their creations. Call Sharon 443-786-0462 to indicate interest and available times.
